Can you think of a better combination for tacos than tequila? The warmth of a fresh taco loaded with smoked carnitas, mango slaw, queso fresco and topped with a garlic herb sauce in one hand, a spicy jalapeno blood orange margarita in the other. What could be a finer way to spend Sunday Funday?
Devin and Chef Kevin, along with Matty, Ashley and I will be dishing out these tasty treats this Sunday April 7th at Old Cigar Warehouse. We will be competing along side sixty other chefs and bartenders in two rounds of competition for the best Lunazul tequila cocktail and taco challenge. Chef Kevin has put in some time at the smoker this week with the pork butts for his carnita tacos. Devin has been crunching lots of numbers to ensure that all 1,200 people who bought tickets to the event are guaranteed to try at least one of his jalapeno blood orange margaritas. We are all very excited to see who’s taco is chosen and which tequila cocktail is prized above all others. I personally can’t wait to see the Luche Libre Wrestling, it should really be an exciting day!
On another note, we are taking reservations for Easter Brunch. We only take reservations on Sunday twice a year, Easter and Mother’s Day. These spots fill up quickly, so don’t procrastinate calling Taylor at 864-233-0006 for your reservations.
And on a musical note, Monday April 8th we are hosting S.C. Bach, South Carolina’s Bach Society . The music begins at 7:00pm, but if you would like to dine, we will be serving a limited menu of favorites before the music begins.
Also, Saturday April 13th is Record Store Day at Horizon Records. Doors will open at 8:00 am for you early birds out there, and Tyler Ramsey will join us at noon for a brief show on The Boho stage! Horizon will stay open until 10:00 pm for all you RSD 2019 needs. Of course, if you get hungry or thirsty from all your vinyl digging we’ll be open at The Bo to get your bellies full!
Have a wonderful weekend, and we hope to see you soon!
