Have you ever worked somewhere and thought, “Wow this place has an amazing environment and people to work with?” or “ I wait as long as possible to go into that building because of …!” How about the feeling of maybe everyone looks out for each other, but they don’t agree 100% of the time? Like a FAMILY!? Sometimes quirky, sometimes cranky, but most of the time fun loving and willing to do anything for one another because you know they would do the same for you.
Over the years leading up to Chef Kevin and I owning The Bohemian, we’ve worked at an array of places where they just fell in the middle- everyone kind of gets along, but you might not call them family. We noticed something special at The Bo that wasn’t like every place else. It IS A Family, and we ♥ our family! Sure we have our moments, and yes, sometimes someone doesn’t fit or buy in to what we are about. It goes with the territory, that a new person might not like our culture that we’ve worked so hard to maintain, and that’s fine they will probably be happier someplace else and be perfectly content.
Chef Kevin and I would like to believe that those who come to visit us on a regular basis, and even those who don’t, feel that certain something that is the result of our investment of time and energy into men and women who we have “adopted” as our family since the summer of 2015.
Many of the faces at The Bo haven’t changed- Ms. Rosa, Carlos, Kathleen, Sloane have been in the building since The Yeargan’s early days. Close but not quite as long- LoLo, Katy, Heather, Carri; and those since 2015- Sommer, Hunter, Ashley, Taylor, Devin, Jennings, Matty and Chuck. We have lost some people over the years, some happy like moving on to bigger and better things, others sad, but like all family dynamics there is always change. Daniel and his wife, we are sad to say will be leaving us for Georgia, and we are going to miss him. We wish him only the best, and if you see him at Firebirds, either here in Greenville before they move, or when they arrive in Atlanta give him our ♥!
